Joe is a Managing Partner overseeing business strategy, sales, strategic business relationships and partnerships. Joe has spent the last 35 years in the investment business in both public and private markets. He brings a wealth of experience in finance and has a demonstrated track record of sales and leadership capabilities. Joe spent the first 11 years of his career at a small New York based investment firm where he was a financial advisor and ran the sales and training program. He played an instrumental role in building the firm from 15 employees to 600 with more than $5B in assets under management. He then co-founded and was a Managing Partner for 12 years at Allen Partners, a New York based money management firm investing in public and private equity. He focused on high net worth client investment strategy as well as sales and business development. Joe is also the Founder and Managing Partner of QJC Capital, a boutique firm that was focused on private equity investments in late stage private companies. Prior to Barramundi, Joe co-founded ID Funds in 2017 where he helped the company grow to more than $1.3B in assets invested in many of the most influential innovative companies in AI infrastructure, defense technology, data and digital finance among other innovative growth sectors. Joe earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Hobart College. He lives with his wife in Boca Raton, Florida. They have 4 children, the youngest is presently in college, and the other 3 are pursuing careers in medicine, the arts, and AI entrepreneurship. As a family, they enjoy playing golf and pickleball and taking advantage of the outdoors. The McGowan family also enjoys traveling both domestically and internationally.
